I chose to read twilight because it was one of the most popular books this year, and most of my friends were raving about how great and addicting it was. I was also curious about how Stephenie would interpret a vampire's thirst for a human's blood in such a complex story and how she would describe Edward and Bella's relationship.

Bella Swan moves from her original home in Phoenix, Arizona, to live with her dad Charlie in the dreary town of Forks, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. When she goes to school alot of boys start to like her. When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class, she instantly realizes that she is offending him, but for an unknown reason. She then meets up with Jacob Black, an old family friend, who tells her that Edward and his family are vampires, which is the reason that Edward is suspicious of Bella's scent and appearance. Bella was worried that since Edward is a vampire that he could drink her blood, but she is much relieved when Jacob tells her that the Cullens only drink animal blood. As the story progresses,Edward and Bella fall deeper into a relationship. However, Edward has a strong desire to drink Bella's blood, but must resist so that it wont affect their relationship. But much to their surprise, James, a tracker vampire decides he wants to hunt Bella as a sport. James attacks her and bites her hand, and Edward is forced to suck the venom out before it spreads throughout her body and changes her into a vampire. Bella tells Edward that she wants to be a vampire, which he wont allow because he is worried that it will make her life dangerous if she is like him.

The significance of the title being twilight is because when Edward is with Bella he feels she is like twilight, or the end of the day. Edwards old life ended and his new life started... a new day. At the end of the time that twilight takes place in a normal day, Bella asks Edward to transform her into a vampire, which means the end of her human life, and the beginning of her new life as a vampire. (day/night).

1. Does Edward let Bella get turned into a vampire?
2. Do Edward and Bella stay together for a long time?
3. How did James, the tracker vampire know where to find Bella so that he could hunt her down towards the end of the book?
